CPL gone to history
Published by Free March 15th, 2008 in Tournaments.
The organization Cybersport Proffesional League has anounced about its ending. On the official website of the organization appeared a column about cancelling all of the planed events for year 2008. The reasons why CPL has quited its mission is "fragmantation of the sport, a crowded field of competing leagues, and the current economic climate".
The reasons are similar to those of "WSVG tragedy" that was gone to history in 2007 and made a big crack in the Quake wall. The problems of CPL started after losing the main sponsor - worldknown company "Intel" - after CPL World Tour in 2005. In 2006 CPL’s tournaments were definitely smaller. Sierra Company had made a contract and gave a sum of $500, 000 for the F.E.A.R and World in Conflict tournaments, but the attandence had broken all the hopes.
The organization was created in 1997 and was a leading link in the cybersport evolution.
