Quake Voltage

A match beween Guard and Kuria was played yesterday in  EDL-Q3 and it finished with a victory for Guard. Both of the players didn’t have any troubles winning their maps, but the third deciding map was really close!

 The first map was ztn3tourney1. Both started playin really careful, but Guard managed to take first frags and took the lead 6:0 till the 6 minute of the game. Kuria began to give up the frags, and making the score bigger in Guard’s favor. Luthanian player showed really good aim, shoting 50 rails till the 10th minute of the match (36% hit the target). It was 20:6 and 5 minutes left, so Guard was playing relaxed in the end. 1:0.

The second map was a pick from Kuria - pro-q3tourney4. If the previous map started with careful play, this one had some arcade, and Kuria was making some strange moves. He could overaim Guard as a result and win the match in 6 frags. Sad game for both players, without any tactics.

The deciding map was pro-q3dm6, a pick of Guard, who had more frags in sum. From the first minutes Kuria took control of both mega and red armor, but Guard took all weapons, leaving French player with plasma gun. The first frag was really clever and Kuria took the lead. He dominated through all the fights, controling powerups, having good aim and reading the toughts of his opponent. But Guard managed to do a comeback, and I think Kuria was just stunned how quickly Lithuanian player could collect those frags. Step by step Guard managed to make it a draw, and then it was an equal fight, but railing from Guard really helped him to grab that victory out from French player. That’s the demo that has to been seen from Guard’s POV!
