Quake Voltage

It’s been anounced recently the whole list of disciplines on one of the most biggest events in world cybersport - WCG. Yet again we don’t see the FPS duel games like Quake 3/4, Unreal Tournament 3 or Warsow, and it is a bit strange due to the fact that ESWC has included Quake 3 as one of major games. Even so, it does prove, that everything in this world costs money, and organization without sponsors can’t exist. The event will be headed in Koln, Germany, this autumn.

The list of the disciplines is as follows:

PC games:

• StarCraft: BroodWar (1v1)
• WarCraft III: Frozen Throne (1v1)
• Counter-Strike 1.6 (5v5)
• FIFA Soccer 2008 (1v1)
• Need For Speed: Pro Street (1v1)
• Command and Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath (1v1)
• Red Stone (4v4)
• Carom3D (1v1)
• Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties (1v1)

Xbox 360:

• Halo 3 (4v4)
• Guitar Hero 3 (1v1)
• Project Gotham Racing 4 (1v1)
• Virtua Fighter 5 (1v1)

Game on cellphone (!):

• Asphalt (1v1)

Need to remind that in 2007 it was Quake 4 invitational and then the event took a big pause ignoring the discipline. Hope it will change to the better way on WCG 2009.
